Still debugging at midnight? There's a name for that. Read “Creator's Insomnia”

CLOCK + SLEEP PRESSURE

Tired, but not sleepy.

You're exhausted, but when you finally get into bed, sleepiness doesn't seem to arrive.

A PRACTICAL SYSTEM FOR REAL ADULT LIFE

Sleep Skills for Adults

That's what this book fixes. A practical, no-hype system for adults whose sleep broke somewhere along the way — not another “just relax” wellness lecture.

No supplements · No $400 mattress · No 5am wake-up cult

WHY THIS BOOK IS DIFFERENT

Not another ‘just relax’ wellness lecture

Most sleep advice wasn't written for people with an actual life. This was.

Built for behavior, not bought

No supplements to buy, no gadgets to charge. Just the mechanics of sleep, explained clearly enough to actually use tonight.

Built for real adult schedules

Not a retreat. Not a lifestyle overhaul. A system that fits around a job, kids, and a life that doesn't pause so you can 'focus on wellness.'

Root cause, not symptom relief

Most advice treats symptoms — can't sleep, take melatonin. This addresses the actual mechanics: circadian rhythm, sleep debt, hormone timing — so the fix holds.

Built to be used, not shelved

Short, direct chapters built around specific problems — 2am waking, the weekend catch-up myth, screen habits — so you jump straight to what's happening to you.

Get the free one-page system

The whole book's map, in one page. Plus the occasional email — no spam.

Then, whenever you're ready: get the book on Amazon.

Look inside the book

Two pages from the actual book — proof this is a real system, not just a pep talk.

The book's one-page map of the whole system.
One of the book's signature diagnostic frameworks.

What's actually inside

A few of the ideas readers keep coming back to.

The 70% Rule

A sustainable, good-enough routine beats an ideal one that collapses under real life.

Three Wind-Downs

The 10-minute, 30-minute, and high-arousal landing — for three kinds of nights.

Four Types of Evening Stimulation

Chemical, physical, mental, emotional — name it before you try to fix it.

Tired Isn't Sleepy

Sleep pressure and your circadian clock pull in different directions.

STILL DEBUGGING AT MIDNIGHT?

There's a name for what's keeping you up.

If your body is exhausted but your mind is still running the last problem you were solving — still debugging, still planning the next feature, still half-building something in the dark — that's not ordinary insomnia. The book calls it Creator's Insomnia: the specific kind of cognitive arousal that shows up after deep work, long after the laptop's closed.

Mind still running code at 1am
Can’t stop problem-solving in bed
Wired but exhausted after deep work
Brain won’t leave “build mode”

One chapter of the book is built specifically around this pattern — what it actually is, and what helps when the usual sleep advice doesn't.

WHY I WROTE THIS BOOK

About K.V. Sharma

I wrote this because I was tired of being tired.

Not in the poetic sense — in the very literal, 3am-staring-at-the-ceiling sense. Like a lot of adults, I tried the obvious fixes: a better mattress, blackout curtains, an app that measured how badly I was sleeping without actually helping me sleep better. None of it addressed why my sleep had quietly fallen apart somewhere between deadlines, responsibilities, and a phone that never really let the day end.

What actually helped wasn't a product. It was understanding the mechanics — what my body clock was actually doing, why ‘just relax’ is useless advice, and which small changes move the needle versus which ones are just wellness theater.

Sleep Skills for Adults is the system I wish existed when I needed it — practical, specific, and built for an adult life that isn't going to slow down just because you're tired.

He is not a clinician. Where the book discusses science, it relies on published research. Where it discusses what helped him personally, it says so plainly — and it tells you when a real medical conversation, not another habit, is the right next step.
